Use Yazio with BodyLeveling

Last updated: 2026-08-25

BodyLeveling reads the calories you have already logged, straight from Apple Health. Yazio writes your daily intake to Apple Health, so once that sync is on inside Yazio, your calories show up on the BodyLeveling Advice tab next to the daily target from your scan. There is no second login, and nothing leaves your iPhone.

Why use Yazio and BodyLeveling together

Yazio and BodyLeveling answer two different questions. Yazio counts what you eat. BodyLeveling scores what your body looks like, and works out what your calorie target should be from your scan, your goal and your metabolism.

Put together, you get both halves of the same number on one screen: the target BodyLeveling set for you, and the intake Yazio recorded. That comparison is the whole point. A calorie target you never check against reality is a guess, and a food log with no target attached to it is just bookkeeping.

How to connect Yazio, step by step

1. Turn on Apple Health sync inside Yazio

Open Yazio and go to the Profile tab. Tap Apple Health, then turn the sync on.

On Yazio's side, writing nutrition data to Apple Health requires a Yazio PRO account. That is Yazio's own restriction, not ours.

2. Connect Apple Health inside BodyLeveling

Open BodyLeveling, go to Profile, find the Integrations section, and tap Connect Apple Health. iOS will ask what BodyLeveling is allowed to read. Allow Dietary Energy.

3. Open the Advice tab

Log a meal in Yazio, then open the Advice tab in BodyLeveling. Your calories today appear as a ring against your daily energy target, with the remaining amount underneath.

What BodyLeveling reads, and what it does not

This is worth being precise about, because "connect your health data" usually means something much broader than what happens here.

Data types read One only: Dietary Energy Consumed
Granularity The daily total, for today
Direction Read only. BodyLeveling never writes to Apple Health
Where it is processed On your iPhone
Sent to our servers Never
Used for training or advertising Never
Steps, weight, workouts, heart rate, sleep Not read at all

BodyLeveling has no account system, no email address and no password. Your calorie total is used to draw one ring and then it is forgotten.

Trackers that work exactly the same way

Nothing in this setup is specific to Yazio. Apple Health is the bridge, so any app that writes your logged calories to Apple Health will show up in BodyLeveling.

Tracker Writes calories to Apple Health Guide
Yazio Yes, with a Yazio PRO account This page
MyFitnessPal Yes MyFitnessPal guide
Cronometer Yes Cronometer guide
Lifesum Yes Look for Apple Health in Lifesum's settings
FatSecret Yes Look for Apple Health in FatSecret's settings
Lose It! Yes Look for Apple Health in Lose It!'s settings
MacroFactor Yes Look for Apple Health in MacroFactor's settings
Carb Manager Yes Look for Apple Health in Carb Manager's settings
FoodNoms Yes Look for Apple Health in FoodNoms' settings

Other trackers, Foodvisor among them, may also offer an Apple Health switch. The rule is simple: if the app can write Dietary Energy to Apple Health, BodyLeveling will read it. If two apps write calories on the same day, Apple Health adds them together, so pick one tracker and stay with it.

Troubleshooting

My calories still show zero

Work through these in order.

  1. Log something in Yazio today. BodyLeveling reads today's total, so an empty day genuinely is zero.
  2. Check the Yazio side. Yazio, Profile, Apple Health, sync on. Confirm the account is Yazio PRO.
  3. Check the iOS side. Open Settings, then Health, then Data Access & Devices, then BodyLeveling, and make sure Dietary Energy is turned on. It is easy to tap Deny by reflex on the first permission sheet.
  4. Reopen BodyLeveling. The figure refreshes when you open the Advice tab and when the app comes back to the foreground.

The number looks too high

Apple Health sums every app that writes calories. If you logged in two trackers, or migrated from one to another and left both syncing, you will see the total of both. Turn Apple Health sync off in the one you no longer use.

I am on Android

BodyLeveling is iPhone only today, and this feature is built on Apple HealthKit. There is no Health Connect equivalent yet.

Questions

Does BodyLeveling have a Yazio integration?

Not a direct one, and it does not need one. BodyLeveling reads calorie data from Apple Health, and Yazio writes to Apple Health. Apple Health is the bridge, which is why there is no Yazio login inside BodyLeveling and no Yazio API involved.

Do I need Yazio PRO for this?

Yes. Writing nutrition data to Apple Health is a Yazio PRO feature on Yazio's side. BodyLeveling itself does not charge anything extra to read Apple Health.

Does my food data leave my phone?

No. BodyLeveling reads your daily total of Dietary Energy Consumed on the device and uses it to draw one ring on the Advice tab. That number is never sent to our servers and is never written back to Apple Health.

Can I use MyFitnessPal or Cronometer instead of Yazio?

Yes. Any tracker that writes calories to Apple Health works the same way, including MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, Lifesum, FatSecret, Lose It! and MacroFactor.

Does this work on Android?

Not yet. BodyLeveling is iPhone only, and the calorie read is built on Apple HealthKit. Health Connect support on Android is not available today.
