Why connect MyFitnessPal to BodyLeveling
MyFitnessPal is a food log. BodyLeveling is a physique scan that produces a calorie target from your goal, your metabolism and what the photos show.
Connecting them puts the target and the intake on the same screen. Without that, you are either following a target you never verify, or logging food against no target at all.
How to connect, step by step
1. Turn on HealthKit Sharing in MyFitnessPal
In MyFitnessPal, tap More, then Settings, then Sharing & Privacy, then HealthKit Sharing. Grant permission for the nutrition data you want shared.
2. Connect Apple Health in BodyLeveling
Open BodyLeveling, go to Profile, find Integrations, tap Connect Apple Health, and allow Dietary Energy when iOS asks.
3. Open the Advice tab
Log a meal in MyFitnessPal, then open the Advice tab in BodyLeveling. Today's calories appear as a ring against your daily energy target.
What BodyLeveling reads
| Data types read | One only: Dietary Energy Consumed |
| Granularity | The daily total, for today |
| Direction | Read only. BodyLeveling never writes to Apple Health |
| Where it is processed | On your iPhone |
| Sent to our servers | Never |
| Individual foods, meals, macros | Not read at all |
Troubleshooting
Nothing appears in BodyLeveling
- Log something today. BodyLeveling reads today's total, so an empty day is genuinely zero.
- Check HealthKit Sharing is still on in MyFitnessPal, under More, Settings, Sharing & Privacy.
- Check iOS. Settings, then Health, then Data Access & Devices, then BodyLeveling, and confirm Dietary Energy is on.
- Reopen BodyLeveling. The figure refreshes when the Advice tab opens.
Older entries are missing
MyFitnessPal only pushes what you log after the connection is made. It does not reach back and import history from before you linked the apps.
The total is higher than what I logged
Apple Health sums every app writing calories that day. If another tracker is still syncing, turn its Apple Health sharing off.
Questions
Do I need MyFitnessPal Premium?
Apple Health sharing is configured in MyFitnessPal's own settings, and what each plan includes is decided by MyFitnessPal. BodyLeveling charges nothing extra to read Apple Health, and reads whatever total Apple Health holds.
Will my old MyFitnessPal history appear?
No. MyFitnessPal only writes entries logged after the two apps are connected, and BodyLeveling reads today's total. Past days are not backfilled.
Does BodyLeveling see what I ate?
No. It reads one number, the day's total Dietary Energy Consumed. Individual foods, meals and macros are never read.
Can I use Yazio or Cronometer instead?
Yes. Any tracker that writes calories to Apple Health works identically. See the Yazio and Cronometer guides.
Does this work on Android?
Not yet. BodyLeveling is iPhone only and this feature is built on Apple HealthKit.
