Why connect Cronometer to BodyLeveling
Cronometer is the most precise food log of the mainstream trackers, built around micronutrient accuracy. BodyLeveling works from the other end: it scans your physique and produces the calorie target that precision should be aimed at.
Connecting them means the number you are hitting is the number your scan asked for.
How to connect, step by step
1. Connect Apple Health in Cronometer
In Cronometer, open Settings, then Apps & Devices. Find Apple Health and tap Connect, then grant permission to write nutrition data to Apple Health.
2. Connect Apple Health in BodyLeveling
Open BodyLeveling, go to Profile, find Integrations, tap Connect Apple Health, and allow Dietary Energy.
3. Open the Advice tab
Log a meal in Cronometer, then open the Advice tab in BodyLeveling. Today's calories appear as a ring against your daily energy target.
What BodyLeveling reads
| Data types read | One only: Dietary Energy Consumed |
| Granularity | The daily total, for today |
| Direction | Read only. BodyLeveling never writes to Apple Health |
| Where it is processed | On your iPhone |
| Sent to our servers | Never |
| Micronutrients, macros, individual foods | Not read at all |
Troubleshooting
Nothing appears in BodyLeveling
- Log something today. BodyLeveling reads today's total.
- Check Cronometer. Settings, Apps & Devices, Apple Health, still connected.
- Check iOS. Settings, then Health, then Data Access & Devices, then BodyLeveling, and confirm Dietary Energy is on.
- Reopen BodyLeveling. The figure refreshes when the Advice tab opens.
The number is double what I ate
Apple Health adds up every app that writes calories. Running Cronometer alongside another tracker with Apple Health sync still on produces the sum of both. Disconnect the one you no longer use.
Questions
Do I need Cronometer Gold?
The Apple Health connection lives in Cronometer's own Apps & Devices settings, and what each plan includes is decided by Cronometer. BodyLeveling charges nothing extra to read Apple Health.
Does BodyLeveling read the micronutrient detail Cronometer tracks?
No. Cronometer's strength is micronutrient depth, but BodyLeveling reads one number only: the day's total Dietary Energy Consumed. Vitamins, minerals and macros are never read.
Will this double count my calories?
Only if a second tracker is also writing to Apple Health. Apple Health sums every writer, so keep one calorie tracker connected at a time.
Can I use Yazio or MyFitnessPal instead?
Yes. Any tracker that writes calories to Apple Health works identically. See the Yazio and MyFitnessPal guides.
Does this work on Android?
Not yet. BodyLeveling is iPhone only and this feature is built on Apple HealthKit.
